Lazy Lion

Lazy Lion is the new cocktail bar of Budapest that brings the timeless values of classic bar culture back to the heart of city life.

The vision of the team led by bar manager Feke Soma is to bring international experience home, combining the traditions of American and London based bars with the informality of Mediterranean hospitality to create an atmosphere that is both elegant and relaxed. The menu is based on classic and modern standards, with clean, balanced cocktails that are exciting yet familiar in flavor.

Operating within the walls of the Adria Palace, built in 1902, the bar also pays tribute to Hungary’s maritime past: the “Journey Ticket” cocktail experience invites you on a taste journey from Fiume to Rio de Janeiro. The award-winning interior design concept by Astet Studio, with dark wood paneling and art deco details, creates a spacious yet intimate atmosphere.

The name of the cocktail bar on Szabadság Square was inspired by a legendary adventurer who is said to have regularly traveled on Adria steamships, recording his travels under the pseudonym “Lazy Lion.” According to rumor, his travelogues made him famous throughout Budapest and have preserved the mystique of the name to this day.
