Responsible energy use across the BDPST Group portfolio
@BDPST
In response to the recent exceptional heatwave and energy situation, companies and business units within BDPST Group’s investment portfolio introduced voluntary energy- and water-saving measures tailored to their respective operations. The initiatives aimed to reduce energy and water consumption and promote responsible operations, while continuing to maintain the high standards expected by guests, partners and employees.
Budapest Marriott Hotel, Dorothea Hotel Budapest, Autograph Collection, Verno House Budapest, Vignette Collection and voco Budapest D8 introduced a range of measures, including switching off exterior façade lighting, optimising building management systems and temperature settings, and reviewing the operation of selected energy-intensive services.
Responsible operations also translated into concrete measures across other companies within the Group. Waberer’s temporarily suspended the exterior washing of its vehicles during the critical period, while Máriavölgyi Golf Club reduced water consumption by optimising its irrigation processes. At properties managed by Gránit Asset Management and Grandum Property Management, the focus was on optimising cooling and building systems, reducing non-essential energy consumption and rationalising water use.
Energy-saving measures were also introduced at BDPST Zrt.’s headquarters. In addition to optimising air-conditioning settings, non-essential electronic equipment, advertising displays and decorative lighting were switched off, while more flexible home office arrangements were provided to employees where operations allowed.
BDPST Group considers it a priority to contribute to the stability of Hungary’s energy supply through responsible operations during exceptional circumstances, while maintaining a long-term focus on the conscious and efficient use of energy and resources.
