Do Good To Your Homeland!

Purchased by BDPST Group in 2019, Adria Palace is to be restored to its original glory soon. The renovation process started in 2020 in the spirit of value creation and protection, and, as its result, the building will regain its well-deserved appearance, and it will become a prominent element of the view of Szabadság tér again. The property, built between 1900 and 1902 by the order of the Royal Hungarian Navigation Company Adria, had a rather troubled past in the last hundred years, therefore its state has significantly deteriorated by now. Since the purchase of the building in 2019, the first phase of the construction works has been completed, which included the demolition works and the restoration of the facade and the roofing. One of the major aims of this latter was to rebuild the original, special mansard cupola designed by Artúr Meinig in 1902. In parallel, the structural reinforcement as well as the reinforcement of the foundation of the building are also being carried out.

Details of the past and the renovation of the Palace can be read in the bilingual book entitled ‘Do good to your homeland! The history of the Adria Palace’ published in 2021, hereby preserving the historical and professional legacy of the building.

The development project of Adria Palace is to be stopped for an unlimited period after the structural restoration is completed.
